To help reduce the spread of coronavirus, a new national lockdown came into effect across England from Thursday 5 November until Wednesday 2 December. This means:
- Stay at home, except for specific purposes
- Avoid meeting people you do not live with, except for specific purposes
- Certain businesses and venues must close

We can all help control the virus if we follow the key public health advice and lockdown rules. This means:
- Stay at home as much as possible
- Work from home if you can
- Observe social distancing
- Keep your distance from people not in your household or support bubble - 2 metres (6ft) apart where possible
- Wear a face covering in indoor public spaces
- Wash your hands regularly - carry and use alcohol gel when you can't wash your hands
- Self-isolate and book a free test if you or anyone in your household has symptoms, or if asked to do so by contact tracing advisors
- Download the NHS Test and Trace app if you have not done so already
