In the last 2-3 months, we have seen a real drive in the crack down on anti-social behaviour in Bradwell. Though considered a police matter, myself and other Bradwell councillors have been working alongside the local police beat manager, PC Vinny Gray, passing on resident's comments and highlighting areas of concern.
I was thrilled to receive a report from PC Gray, informing me that the situation seems to have improved in the North of Bradwell, after some very proactive actions.
In the past months, there has been an increased presence of police in extra patrols, including foot patrols in the more problematic areas. This has had some positive results, with a witnessed drop in anti-social behaviour complaints to the police.
El Alamein Way was at one point experiencing a lot of issues, with calls coming in and local residents approached me to say that there were some older youths causing issues in the area. Again, certain individuals were spoken to by the police in the area, and regular patrols seemed to have made a great improvement with no recent reports being made.
I have spoken with Environmental Services regarding the cleaning of broken glass bottles on El Alamein play park, and I have been assured that this area is inspected on a very regular basis. However, even they have noticed a reduction in glass on the park.
Finally, it was great to meet with the Norfolk Police and Crime Commissioner, Giles Orpen-Smellie, at a recent police engagement event at Morrisons. He explained that one of his aims was to have more of a police presence in local areas, and was pleased to hear that measures had been taken to curb small crime in Bradwell.
It is vital that all instances of anti-social behaviour are reported to the police by calling 101, or you can report it directly online by using this form. This gives the police the data they need to see if there are areas that need additional patrols.
Alternatively, you can contact me with your issue and I will forward this on, on your behalf.
